Just in time for the start of the acclaimed musical on Disney +, Spotify featured exclusive video content with Lin-Manuel Miranda on the streaming service's Best of Hamilton playlist.
The videos, which also include Hamilton's music producer and orchestrator Alex Lacamoire, revealed the inspiration for some of the musical's songs. Miranda also looks back on Renee Elise Goldsberry's first audition for the role of Angelica Schuyler, which she nailed, although she had only received the material for Satisfied the previous evening.
"Renee blew us all away. She raps at the speed of thought, she sings great and she was Angelica Schuyler from that moment on, ”said Miranda, who described Satisfied as the hardest song on the show.
Spotify users can access the videos in the Best of Hamilton playlist, although they can only be viewed in the platform's mobile app.
Hamilton arrived on Disney + almost a year and a half earlier than planned as a live stage production of the musical. The show, which revolves around the life of founding father Alexander Hamilton, has been extremely successful since it started on Broadway in 2015.
For Disney +, which Hamilton transmits exclusively online, a subscription fee of USD 7 per month or USD 70 per year will be charged.
