Razer launched its BlackShark gaming headset in 2012. The company has since launched several other gaming headsets. However, if you're a fan of the original and would like to see an updated model, you might be happy to know that Razer has since announced the BlackShark V2.
As the name suggests, this will be the second generation BlackShark gaming headset. There will actually be two models, the BlackShark V2 and the V2 X, the latter being the entry-level version. The price of the V2 X starts at $ 60 and offers the use of Razer's TriForce 50mm drivers and 7.1 surround sound. There is a built-in 3.5mm jack and a HyperClear Cardioid Mic.
The more expensive BlackShark V2 will also be equipped with 50 mm drivers. However, these drivers are coated with titanium, which can deliver spatial THX audio. Razer also offers vocal clarity with these drivers. There will also be the same HyperClear microphone that can be removed. The BlackShark V2 costs $ 100.
Both the Razer BlackShark V2 and the V2 X are available today and can be purchased on the Razer website. Razer has also announced that it will release THX game profiles on August 6, which are profiles designed and optimized for specific games.
