This story is part of Amazon Prime Day, CNET's guide to everything you need to know and how to make sure you are getting the best deal.

Amazon Prime Day 2020 is on us! It comes just after the first two weeks of deals, but today is the main event. The company's answer to Black Friday officially launched at midnight PT, and it will run until the end of the day tomorrow, October 14th.

One thing to note: there are other stores. (Shocker, right?) And many of them, including Best buy and Walmart, operate their own sales. While many of Amazon's deals are great, you should check elsewhere to make sure you're getting the best price.

Below are some of the best discounts currently available – and there are some damn good ones – that have been really curated by you. Here's the important caveat: to take advantage of this and most of the other Prime Day deals, you must be an Amazon Prime subscriber.

Assuming you are already, seriously consider applying for an Amazon Prime Rewards Visa card. At the moment it will net you a $ 100 Amazon gift card You can use it for any upcoming purchases. You also get 5% off almost everything you buy from Amazon and 10% off select electronics for a limited time.

In the meantime you can still Get $ 10 credit to use on Prime Day when you spend $ 10 or more with a select US small business. And there are several other options Spend $ 10 on Amazon and get $ 10 on Amazon. Be sure to check out mine Six ways to win Prime Day for additional savings strategies.

This is the lowest price ever for the Non-Pro AirPods, which are still the "king of true wireless earbuds". Still by no means cheap, but not that ridiculously overpriced either.

You can also get the AirPods with wireless charging case for $ 150 – not the best deal ever, but close by. And it's still $ 49 off the regular price.

Not only Amazon offers Prime Day specials. Case in point: The best offer so far for the Galaxy S20 comes from Visible. The airline is cutting the regular price of the flagship phone, which normally sells for $ 984 (and $ 1,000 elsewhere), by more than $ 400. You get the door for $ 768 and after two months of visible service, you get a prepaid MasterCard worth $ 200 for $ 40 a month.

You will also receive a $ 200 Samsung Gift Card that you can use to purchase other goodies. All of this depends on porting your number to Visible as part of your purchase. Still, it's a fantastic deal.

The Blink Mini is available for $ 25 when ordered through the Amazon app or site. However, if you have an Alexa-equipped device, you can use your voice to order it for just $ 15. ("Alexa, order a Blink mini indoor camera.")

That would put the camera under CNET's favorite Wyze camera ($ 20 plus shipping). Both models work pretty well, although the latter includes free cloud storage, which the Blink doesn't.

However, until the end of 2020, you will receive a free Blink cloud storage trial. With the upcoming Blink Sync Module 2, you can get subscription-free local storage for just $ 35.

Another great option: get the Blink Mini with an Echo Show 5 for just $ 50. These two have a combined retail value of $ 125!

It may be two years old, but the Roku premiere is still an excellent streamer. It has apps for pretty much every streaming service under the sun and slings them all to 4K. The latest version also supports HDR. Whether there's a "dumb" TV you want to get smart about or an old Roku that needs to be replaced, it's hard to beat this all-time low price tag.

You can also buy the Roku Express HD for just $ 21, its lowest price yet. It doesn't do 4K, which makes it more suitable for smaller TVs.

Amazon Prime subscribers are already getting a pretty good deal on the music streaming service: $ 8 per month, that's $ 2 less than Spotify, Apple Music, and the like.

If you haven't tried the service yet, here is your chance to enjoy four months for just a dollar. Don't have a Prime? You can get three months for a dollar. And if you've already subscribed to Music Unlimited in the past, you can come back for $ 3 a month for the first three months.

This appears to be a 2020 version of the Toshiba Fire TV Edition that David Katzmaier reviewed last year. It's hard to say exactly what's different here, but the verdict at the time was "great prices, great voice features, great selection of Fire TV apps". The picture quality wasn't comparable to similar Roku TVs, however – and Katzmaier noted that he preferred its user interface, a feeling I share.

That is, a 55-inch Toshiba smart TV for $ 300? With mostly excellent user ratings (from Best Buy customers)? At least it's worth a look.

Cut the rope! This deal is the lowest price ever. In fact, it hasn't been this low since last year's vacation. For $ 130, you can get the 500GB model with two tuners. If you want the 1TB version with four tuners, it'll cost you just $ 50 more.

This is the lowest price yet, and it can get even better: using the Prime Rewards Visa card mentioned above, get 10% back and effectively lower your price to $ 40.50.

As mentioned above, you can also get the Echo Show 5 with a Blink mini indoor camera for just $ 5 more. I don't think the 10% cashback option applies, but that's still a standout bundle.

Amazon wants to put Alexa in your car. Is that worth $ 50? Is it worth $ 20? Perhaps. Echo Auto's reviews have been pretty mixed, partly because the price feels too high and partly because you can use your phone's Google Assistant or Siri to do many of the same voice-controlled tasks. (Can't say I'm crazy about the wires either.)

That said, if you've been curious to try this, I believe this is the lowest price ever recorded (many times over). Read our handy first version of Amazon Echo.

Ooooh, wee! While you can stream Rick and Morty on Hulu and HBO Max, here's your option to own every season at half the regular price on Prime Video. As with the other offers, you must be an Amazon Prime member.

This is basically like buying one and getting one for free, because right now a single dot sells for $ 40. This deal applies to third generation models.

Are you more interested in the brand new Echo Dot with clock that Amazon announced just last week? There's already a deal there, too: it's currently selling for $ 60, but you can Save $ 20 on a Dot with Clock Two-Pack with promo code DOT2PACK. (The same code will also save you $ 20 on a pair of new Echo Points without a watch.)

The all-round great MyQ (I've used one for years) is only a few dollars below its regular retail price – a lot because this thing used to be over $ 100. But here's the real deal: if you choose Amazon's in-garage delivery, you can get $ 30 credit after your first order by using the coupon code KEY30 at the order. That almost covers the cost of the MyQ itself.

Typically $ 20, this pair of UL certified smart plugs automatically drops to $ 15 if you're a Prime member (keep in mind that most Prime Day deals have this requirement). There is also a $ 5 coupon on the side that can be used to bring your final price down to $ 10. Just clip it in place before adding the plugs to your cart.

These are top notch points of sale that are compatible with both Alexa and the Google Assistant. This is the best offer ever made for you.

The Insignia is a current generation 4K UHD TV (released this year) based on Amazon's Fire TV interface. That means you get all compatible apps and streaming services as well as a voice remote control with Alexa support. There are also three HDMI inputs to better accommodate your game consoles and so on.
