As a continuation of Apple's 2016 Hit sleeper iPhone with the same name, the new iPhone SE starts at $ 399, £ 419 or AU $ 749. With this price tag, the phone aims to attract price-conscious users who may not be able to buy $ 1,000 phones like that iPhone 11 Pro or Galaxy S20. While this means some cuts in hardware (for example, the phone has a smaller 4.7-inch display and a single rear-view camera), the iPhone SE includes some modern fixings, e.g. B. the same A13 processor as the iPhone 11.

With a four-year hiatus between the new iPhone SE and the older one, Apple brought many upgrades. This includes wireless charging, better camera specs, and water resistance. (Unfortunately, the new iPhone SE doesn't have a headphone jack for wired headphone users.) If you're looking for a new iPhone but want to save as much money as possible, the iPhone SE is the best choice – you save $ 300 in comparison at the price of the iPhone 11 (which costs $ 699, $ 729, or $ 1,199).

The iPhone 11 costs $ 300 more than the iPhone SE. Although there are many of the same internal specifications, there are two main advantages: it has a bigger screen (6.1 inches versus 4.7, measured diagonally) and better camera specifications (a second wide-angle lens and a better selfie) for the camera Beginning). If both are high priorities for you, get the iPhone 11.

Do you need more details? Below is a detailed description of the differences between these two models, so you can find out exactly what the iPhone SE offers at a lower price.

Size and design: the iPhone SE is small and compact

The most obvious difference between the two phones is that the iPhone 11 is bigger. The iPhone 11 has a 6.1-inch screen, while the iPhone SE has a 4.7-inch display. While the former gives you more screen space for your apps and watching videos, the iPhone SE will attract users because of its convenient portability and compact grip.

Both iPhones have LCD displays, but the iPhone 11 has a "Liquid Retina HD display", while the iPhone SE has "Retina HD". These are brand terms that Apple uses to differentiate its display technology. All you need to know is that the iPhone 11's screen is sharper, though both have the same number of pixels per inch or pixel density.

Some users will also like the home button of the iPhone SE. After Apple discontinued iPhone 8, iPhone SE will be the only iPhone that Apple sells with a physical home button. Not only is it intuitive to use, it also means that you don't have to use swiping gestures to return to the home screen or to launch current apps. The home button is also the device's fingerprint reader for unlocking the phone and authorizing digital payments (what Apple calls Touch ID). However, the iPhone 11 uses face mapping sensors on the front camera for biometric security (also known as Face ID).

The devices are both IP certified for water protection. But because the iPhone 11 is rated IP68 Compared to the IP67 protection rating of the iPhone SE, this means that the iPhone 11 is a bit more durable against immersion (as in, it is certified to withstand prolonged or deep immersion in water). On paper, an IP67 certification level means that the iPhone SE can survive in up to one meter of water for about 30 minutes.

After all, the iPhone SE is only available in black, white and red. The iPhone 11 is also available in these three colors. However, if you want more options, you can also buy it in pastel yellow, green, and purple.

Camera: iPhone 11 has the upper hand

If you are not necessarily a power user of the camera, the single 12-megapixel rear view camera of the iPhone SE should be sufficient to publish pictures on Instagram and take occasional video recordings. However, if you are interested in photography or would like to have more tools available, the iPhone 11 has a significantly better camera setup than the iPhone SE.

The iPhone 11, for example has a second wide-angle camera. That means you can take stunning landscape photos or creative, more dramatic pictures up close. The iPhone 11 also has Apple's camera mode in low light, night mode. Night mode reduces digital artifacts, graininess, and motion blur to capture and brighten images taken in low light.

With the front-facing camera, the iPhone 11 not only has a better selfie camera, but also more megapixels (12 megapixels compared to the 7 megapixels of the iPhone SE). It can record 4K video (compared to the iPhone SE's 1080p video) and Record slow motion video, also.

Processor and battery: Both have A13 Bionic

Apple could have equipped the iPhone SE as the main budget phone with an older processor. However, the device is equipped with the latest proprietary device A13 Bionic chip, the same as in the iPhone 11. When we ran the processing speed on 3DMark and Geekbench 5, both phones got similar results, which also means that the iPhone SE performed comparable – and sometimes better – in performance Galaxy S20, Pixel 4 and OnePlus 8 Pro.

As always, Apple does not announce the battery capacity of the iPhone SE. According to the runtimes stated on the Apple website, the battery of the iPhone SE is similar to that of the iPhone 8, which is not as long as the iPhone 11. (Unofficial demolitions by third parties have also shown that the iPhone 11 has a battery of 3,110 mAh -Battery, while the iPhone 8 has a 1,821 mAh battery.)

However, when playing video continuously in airplane mode, both phones took the same amount of time: about 15.5 hours, give or take. While we don't have to do any streaming tests on the iPhone SE yet, it's promising that the first battery runs will resemble the iPhone 11.
