The free multiplayer game Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout continues its early success on Steam and Twitch, despite server problems caused by massive numbers of players.
Fall Guys launch was fraught with overloaded servers, resulting in a bomb attack on Steam that was rolled back by players to help support the game. Developer Mediatonic announced via the game's official Twitter account that Fall Guys had more than 1.5 million players in the first 24 hours and was working on a patch to fix bugs and connectivity issues.
The startup problems continued, however, with a notice on Fall Guys' Steam page that read, “We underestimated the number of jelly beans in the jar. We are working hard to increase server capacity. Be aware, however, that matchmaking may go up and down during the startup window. "
Mediatonic also apologized for the ongoing problems.
We appreciate your patience, and we can't thank you enough for helping us with these startup issues.
Once everything is back online, we will work on additional rewards for all of you to show our appreciation. ????
We'll post news here as soon as it's available!

Apparently, these issues weren't enough to drive the players off Fall Guys.
As of August 8, Fall Guys has hit a maximum player count of 124,772 on Steam at the time of writing, just behind the mainstays Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, DOTA 2, and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. The game has since skipped Grand Theft Auto V and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.
Fall Guys is the second most viewed game on Twitch with 244,000 viewers. It lags behind League of Legends but beats Grand Theft Auto V, Fortnite, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Fall Guys launches on PlayStation Plus
Fall Guys' early success was helped by the launch of the PlayStation 4 game as a free downloadable game for PlayStation Plus subscribers, similar to the release of Psyonix's vehicle soccer game Rocket League in 2015.
Mediatonic said in an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit the developer hopes Fall Guys will achieve the same level of success as the Rocket League. It seems that the colorful battle royale game is well on its way to do it.
