Fall Guys Midseason Update is now live and literally comes with a huge new feature as well as measures to address the game's cheating issues.

In a blog post on Tuesday, Fall Guys developer Mediatonic said the game was the most downloaded PlayStation Plus game ever released. And as expected, it has added a new hammer obstacle that the developer calls "Big Yeetus".

A trailer shows the hammer that appears randomly in levels and throws players over obstacles.

The other big update focuses on fraud. Fall Guys has suffered from rampant cheating problems, with some players hovering above the levels or flying hacks through at top speed.

In response, Mediatonic created a "Cheaters Island" and removed cheaters from the main game and placed them in the digital prison.

With the mid-season update, the developer introduced a new anti-cheating system for PC users. It has also broken up the island of scammers in the hopes that the new measures it has taken will be enough to limit the cheating. In addition, the developer said that the game's update includes a number of other improvements under the hood to improve server stability and the smooth running of the game.

Aside from the Big Yeetus obstacle, levels have added new hazards and rotations have been randomized to create a wider range of experiences, which means levels "need to be approached in completely new ways," the developer said.

"Reliable door patterns in Gate Crash can create waves of all kinds," Mediatonic said. “Turntables could turn the tide in an unpredictable version of Fall Ball. And just when you thought you had got a grip on the seesaw turned upside down? We're just going to say that your approach may need to be adjusted. "

Fall Guys launched last month and became an instant hit with its fun and addicting gameplay. Within the first 24 hours of availability, the title had attracted 1.5 million unique players. The game had 7 million units sold on Steam last month and is the most downloaded PlayStation Plus game of all time.

Looking ahead, Mediatonic said it is working on a second season for the popular franchise but did not reveal any details or an expected launch date.
